2012 homecoming season is coming soon

It is about to be that time of year again for students and alumni alike to gather and celebrate homecoming!

There will be a ton of fun activities to rally your enthusiasm the week before, and of course, everyone will gather to cheer the football team on to victory. It's typically a lot less formal than prom, but still calls for a special formal dress for homecoming.

Most of all, picking out a new 2012 homecoming dress, pass on the full-length dresses and look at styles that hit at, just above, or just below the knee. For more formal functions, consider dresses made of tulle, jersey or a sequined knit.

Try on a shift dress in cotton sateen or a short-sleeved jewel-neck dress in a shiny black jersey. When the fall temperatures are really low, pair one of these with a fuzzy angora sweater, and don't forget your coat.

Let prints dress up an otherwise simply cut dress. Look for an off-the-shoulder dress with ruffled or fringed edging, or a knit dress with rhinestone or beaded trim.

Be sure you have everything planned way in advance so that you don’t have any hang-ups when Homecoming day arrives. Be sure you have your hair and makeup appointments set as well as any dinner reservations if your group plans to go out and eat before. If hiring a limo is common place for your school, make sure you have that booked and your arrival and departure times from each location are set. Once all of your plans have been finalized, it is time to put on your brand new dress, join your friends, and have the night of your life!
